CollectorFish is designed for legitimate collectors buying and selling authentic collectibles.
Everyone using the Fish Market must follow these rules. They are part of the Terms of Use.
1. Seller Responsibility
Sellers must:
- own the item or have legal authority to sell it, and confirm this on every listing;
- describe the item accurately;
- disclose known damage, restoration, alterations or important defects;
- upload at least 2 photographs of the actual item being sold. Stock photographs and photographs copied from another seller are not permitted;
- accurately describe any authentication or certification;
- ship purchased items and enter tracking within 7 days of the buyerâs payment;
- provide accurate carrier and tracking information; and
- comply with applicable laws.
Every Fish Market listing is reviewed by the CollectorFish team before it is published, and again when a seller changes its title, person, category, description, authentication or photos. Review checks the listing; it is not an inspection or authentication of the item.
2. Authentication Claims
Authentication information entered by a seller is a seller-provided claim unless CollectorFish explicitly states that the item was independently reviewed or authenticated by CollectorFish. CollectorFish does not currently authenticate items.
On listings, seller-entered authentication is labeled neutrally, for example âAuthentication stated by seller: [provider]â. It is never shown with a verification checkmark, shield or other mark suggesting CollectorFish verified it.
Sellers may not describe their authentication with language or graphics suggesting CollectorFish independently verified it.
The authentication companies sellers can choose from (Beckett, JSA, Piece of the Past COA, PSA/DNA) are listed in alphabetical order, followed by âOther authentication companyâ, âNo third-party authenticationâ and âPersonally obtainedâ. CollectorFish does not prefer or promote any authentication provider.
3. Counterfeit and Misrepresented Items
The following are prohibited:
- knowingly counterfeit autographs;
- forged signatures;
- counterfeit certificates of authenticity;
- materially altered items presented as original;
- fabricated provenance;
- items falsely represented as screen-used, game-used, stage-used, personally owned or historically associated;
- knowingly false authentication claims; and
- stolen property.
CollectorFish may remove a listing or restrict an account when there is a reasonable basis to believe an item is fraudulent, stolen or materially misrepresented.
4. Prohibited Items
The following may not be listed or sold on CollectorFish:
- stolen property;
- illegal goods;
- counterfeit currency;
- counterfeit identification documents;
- controlled substances or illegal drugs;
- prescription drugs;
- firearms, ammunition or weapon components where prohibited by law or site policy;
- explosives;
- hazardous materials;
- human remains;
- items made from protected or illegally traded wildlife;
- pornography or sexually explicit material;
- content involving sexual exploitation of minors;
- items promoting or facilitating illegal activity;
- malware, stolen digital credentials or hacked accounts;
- goods whose sale violates intellectual-property law;
- fraudulent certificates or fabricated historical documentation; and
- any item whose sale or possession is prohibited by applicable law.
CollectorFish may prohibit additional categories when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or payment-provider requirements.
5. Offensive or Historically Sensitive Material
Historical collectibles may sometimes contain offensive imagery, language or political symbolism.
CollectorFish may permit legitimate historical material when offered for bona fide collecting, educational or historical purposes, but may remove material that promotes hatred, celebrates violence against protected groups, encourages extremist activity, or violates applicable law or payment-provider rules.
Listings should describe historically sensitive material accurately and without promotional hate speech.
6. Celebrity, Entertainment and Historical Autographs
Sellers should disclose all material information reasonably known about an autograph, including:
- authentication provider, if any;
- provenance, if relevant;
- inscription;
- personalization;
- condition;
- whether the signature is handwritten, printed, stamped, autopen or secretarial when known;
- alterations or restoration; and
- whether the signed item is original, reproduction or reprint.
Knowingly presenting a reproduction, preprint, autopen, stamped or secretarial signature as hand-signed is prohibited.
7. Screen-Used, Prop and Wardrobe Items
Items described as screen-used, production-used, stage-used, game-used, personally owned or otherwise tied directly to a notable production, person or event must have a reasonable factual basis for that description.
Sellers may not fabricate or exaggerate provenance.
8. Pricing
Sellers set their own prices. Buyers may also make offers, which the seller can accept or decline.
CollectorFish does not guarantee an itemâs market value.
Estimated values, community opinions, past sales or other information appearing on the site should not be interpreted as guaranteed resale values.
9. Platform Fee
Listings are free to create.
CollectorFish currently charges sellers a 3% platform fee on the item price when a marketplace sale is completed. Orders refunded because they were not shipped in time are not charged the fee.
Stripeâs card-processing fee is separate and is deducted from the sellerâs share. Insider memberships are never charged the platform fee.
10. Off-Platform Transactions
Do not use CollectorFish deceptively to evade fees on a transaction substantially arranged through the marketplace.
Normal collector communication is permitted, but users may not manipulate the platform to avoid legitimate fees owed on completed marketplace transactions.
Fish Market purchases should be paid only through Buy now or an accepted offer, using CollectorFishâs Stripe checkout. Payments made outside CollectorFish, by wire, gift card or an outside payment link, are not covered by the shipping deadline, automatic refunds or the Report a Problem process described below.
11. Shipping
Sellers are responsible for packaging items appropriately and meeting these shipping requirements:
- Sellers must ship and enter the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Other) and tracking number in My market within 7 days of the buyerâs successful payment.
- Sellers receive a reminder if tracking hasnât been entered after 5 days.
- Tracking must be accurate. Once entered, a seller cannot change or remove it; the CollectorFish team can correct it if needed.
- The buyer is notified when tracking is entered.
- The sellerâs payout is released only after shipment with tracking is confirmed.
CollectorFish does not insure shipments and is not responsible for loss or damage by shipping carriers.
12. Refunds and Disputes
The Fish Market has no general return or refund guarantee. Here is what actually happens in each situation:
If a seller fails to ship
If tracking is not entered within 7 days of payment, the order is automatically canceled and the buyer is refunded in full through Stripe. The buyer and seller are both notified, the seller receives no payout, and no platform fee is charged. The seller should not ship the item after the order is canceled.
Sellers with 2 orders refunded for non-shipment within 90 days receive a warning. At 3 within 90 days, their new listings are paused until the CollectorFish team reviews the account.
If an item is no longer available
If a payment goes through after the item has already sold to someone else, the buyer is refunded in full automatically.
If there is a problem with an order
A buyer can use Report a Problem on the order in My market if an item doesnât arrive, is significantly different from the listing, raises an authenticity concern, is damaged, or is the wrong item. One report can be opened per order. The seller is notified and can respond, and the CollectorFish team reviews both sides and may contact the buyer and seller by email.
Refunds for reported problems are not automatic. A refund is issued only if the CollectorFish team decides one is appropriate after review. CollectorFish does not reimburse buyers or sellers from its own funds and does not guarantee any particular outcome.
If you dispute a charge with your bank
Card payment disputes (chargebacks) are handled by Stripe and the card issuer under their own rules. CollectorFish does not control or guarantee the outcome of a chargeback.
When CollectorFish intervenes
The CollectorFish team may review listings, reports and orders, correct tracking information, mark a dispute resolved, issue a refund where it decides one is appropriate, remove listings, pause a sellerâs new listings, or restrict accounts, as described in section 14.
13. User Safety
Never send another user:
- passwords;
- full payment-card numbers;
- banking passwords;
- Social Security numbers; or
- other unnecessary highly sensitive information.
Report suspicious requests or activity to collectorfish2026@gmail.com.
14. Enforcement
CollectorFish may:
- decline or remove listings;
- request additional information or photographs;
- cancel or refund transactions where supported by the marketplace;
- restrict buying or selling privileges, including pausing new listings;
- suspend accounts; or
- permanently remove users
when reasonably necessary to enforce these rules, prevent fraud, protect users, comply with law or satisfy payment-provider requirements.
15. Reporting a Listing
Signed-in members can use Report Listing on any live Fish Market listing. Reports go privately to the CollectorFish team, and the seller isnât told who reported it. See Marketplace Safety for more.
You can also report a listing by emailing collectorfish2026@gmail.com with the listing URL and your reason for concern.
16. CollectorFish Is a Marketplace
CollectorFish provides the marketplace infrastructure connecting collectors.
A userâs listing, authentication claim, description or price does not constitute an endorsement by CollectorFish.
Buyers should review listings carefully and perform appropriate due diligence before purchasing valuable collectibles.
